No security guards chasing us off this time! I approach the owner of this fine establishment with my proposal and was granted permission to shoot. I'm happy with the results on a thematic level, however my home equipment is lacking (at best) and wish the video could have been of a higher quality.

Considering that my camera and lighting rig can be bought on ebay for less than $300 combined, I think this turned out well for what it was, a fun Youtube only project.

The camera was placed on an arm I was holding which was also weighted and balanced to absorb some of the jolts and jitters.

I'm not an actor, so I wanted to give my friend a shot on video while I held the camera in a more traditional way. I would also have enjoyed a rolling light box to keep things consistent as I walked. Alas this was never meant to be, as we only got 2 takes before security asked us to leave.

The song is "City Hall" from The Dog Traders.

Grunge Type in Mainstream Advertising?

I was waiting for a CNN video to play this morning, and the ad pre-roll was for new Newton Fruit Thins.
That's right, Grunge fonts in mainstream advertising! Grunge has never completely left us since the 90's, frequently pairing with vector vomit backgrounds that are so over used these days. I doubt Nabisco has assured a new era of design, but it was interesting to see a throwback to my early college days.

Women's Tank Top Design

Man, I'm really on a roll!
If I had to title this, it would be "Not Dishwasher Safe". This was a plastic pitcher that warped in the dishwasher. I really loved the shape it took, so I pained the insides to give it some contrast. This sits on the desk, reminding me to never assume anything even if it seems obvious. But really, in the twenty first century don't you just assume everything is dishwasher safe?

I was also considering this as an Art Prize entry, but decided it wouldn't be fair to the other artists. Clearly I would have taken the grand prize, but winning $250,000 with something that took about 5 minutes to make, seemed wrong somehow.
