I decided to work outside of my traditional comfort zone and create an article of clothing. I've always considered work like this to be less design and more illustration, and it was a challenge. However you never learn without challenging yourself.

Greathouse Skate Logo Hoodie

Inspired by my women's tank top, I decided to make something I would wear. As a lifetime skateboarder, I keep up with skate fashion. This hoodie would look great on the racks of a local skate shop.

Thick Frames Logo

This logo was created for a geek culture blog. I quickly discovered that the lettering was easier to do by hand and digitize later than starting with vectors first.

I redesigned this logo for Knape & Vogt's sister company, idea@WORK.

Media Nightmare Logo

This logo was created for a film critique project I was fortunate enough to be a part of. The overall theme was German Expressionist film, a visual style that included stark contrasts and unsettling forced perspectives. This logo was designed to pay homage to films like The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.

Liberated Films Logo

This client wanted a logo that reflected the anti-establishment nature of his project. I chose a bold, simplistic, line driven approach that fit the desired "Power to the People" motif.

Golf Outting Materials

The idea for this piece was a goody bag for clients invited to a large customer appreciation event. I created an entire line of branded products that could be found at a large corporate golf outing.

Magazine Ad

This is a magazine ad promoting my clients showroom at Chicago NeoCon, one of the furniture industry's largest annual conventions. I chose visuals that promoted a new line of products and played with the network building nature of these events.

This is a sample from one of the more creative and visually stimulating product catalogs I have created.

Ergonomic Guide

Using vectors supplied to me by the company engineers, I was able to create this guide to proper ergonomics that educated customers about the product line and how to use said line effectively.

Photo Restoration

This client had never seen her fathers face, and no other photos of the man existed besides this damaged negative from his youth living on a military base camp. When she saw the final product, the client broke down into tears.

Media Nightmare: Photography

This photo was taken for promotional purposes. Using a digital projector, I was able to re-enforce the foreboding nature of the Media Nightmare brand while continuing to pay homage to German Expressionist films of the 1920's that inspired the project theme.

Promotional Flyer

This imagery was used in a promotional flyer. The client wanted something that reflected a state of urban age or decay. I chose to re-create a weathered ad you would find on older buildings in large cities.

Comic Book Style Portfolio Cover

This is an older cover from my design portfolio. Inspired by early 1980's comic books, I created a logo and used a "futuristic" typeface that fit the theme. To add an extra touch of authenticity, I recreated the signature patterns of the four color printing process that comics of the early 80's used.

I've written many television spots, but this is a personal favorite. Using chocolate syrup as a stand in for dirty motor oil, I explore the worse case scenario of changing your motor oil at home.
